Our goal is to provide a thrilling and unforgettable adventure for kids and adults alike. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Bookkeeper at our adventure park in Danbury, CT. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing financial statements, bookkeeping tasks, and journal entries using QuickBooks. The role will involve maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, assisting with financial analysis, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, bookkeeping, and accounting principles
  • Minimum associate's degree accounting
  • Minimum 5 years QuickBooks experience
  • Capable of handling multiple companies
  • Well organized individual able to organize information
  • Experienced individual with small businesses able to spot needs of business and discuss remedies
  • Experienced in accrual accounting and producing multiple monthly financials
  • Able to work with multiple people to obtain information for sub-accounts
Regular Responsibilities include:Daily
  • Open Mail and Post accounts payable and accounts receivable, prepare deposits, post to sub account and post deposit to GL
  • Review payables, insurance and tax payments, and payroll, and payroll taxes and, post totals to checking
  • Review bank balances
  • File vendor invoices and maintain AR and AP filing system
Weekly
  • Prepare a list of payables due and submit to CFO to pay
  • Review late payments on A/R and submit
Monthly
  • Run ADP Payroll report and post to GL
  • Reconcile GL Payroll account to Paychex monthly Payroll account and review liabilities
  • Prepare any accruals due for unpaid taxes at month end
  • Post the monthly accruals from prepaid expenses, or contract and leasing payments
  • Run POS system reports for Sales tax information and reconcile to GL
  • Post Split revenue reports between parks
  • Run inter-company loans and tie out between all entities
  • Download bank activity to GL - Compare the download to statement to make sure the downloads are correct
  • Download credit card statements and post activity to GL
  • Reconcile credit card accounts to statement
  • Reconcile bank accounts to checking accounts
  • Post current depreciation
Quarterly
  • After Monthly tasks, Reconcile Payroll tax returns and post accruals to close quarter
Year End
  • Close out books for year end
  • Tie out all sub accounts
  • Tie out tax returns
  • Review new contracts, policies, etc. and set up new accruals and accrual changes
  • Set up upcoming year's depreciation schedule
