Bookkeeper - This is a 100% fully remote opportunity. May be based anywhere in the United States, but must work 9am-5pm Pacific Time.

We are a leading tax law firm in San Francisco looking for an experienced bookkeeper. The qualified candidate will be a competent financial professional with the demonstrated ability to provide our clients accurate and timely bookkeeping services. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Under direct supervision, the incumbent is a key member of the accounting services team and is responsible for client bookkeeping activities including but not limited to obtaining and keeping financial records updated, reconciling bank statements, producing financial statements, and other accounting support for the bookkeeping clients of the firm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work directly with clients in the collection of data and financial records.
  • Reconcile assigned client accounts and credit card statements.
  • Daily data entry which includes but is not limited to entering client financial records and information in financial accounting software.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned client accounts.
  • Customer service tasks to include answering client questions and providing requested information to clients.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter financial data, prepare and maintain bookkeeping documents and records.
  • Prepare and provide client status and work updates to accounting services manager.
  • Timely entry of notes and task status in our Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Performs various tasks and projects based on firm needs.

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated experience working in a remote capacity while maintaining productivity and performance standards.
  • Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Complies with all company and site policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • None

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required plus one (1) year of hands on experience performing bookkeeping tasks in a professional environment; or a Highschool Diploma or GED required plus four (4) years of hand on experience performing bookkeeping tasks in a professional environment.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience using Intuit QuickBooks or other financial software package.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience performing bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read, write, review and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, manuals, work instructions, invoices, contracts, financial reports, check register, general ledger, and other financial documents and records.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and orally.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Apply concepts of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiar with accounting principles including accrual-based procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective application of organizational skills, detail oriented, and meticulous workplace behaviors.
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated experience entering data with quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with high volume task assignment.
  • Familiar with a variety of CRM systems.
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
  • Computer skills:
    • Enter data into firm CRM software and systems.
    • Work and be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, and kneel.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
