Job Title: Accounting and Auditing Clerks Employment Type: Contract Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week Work site: 100% On-Site Location: 1 Commerce Plaza, Albany, NY 12257 Estimated Job Duration: 2 Years Resume Due Date: 06/28/2024. Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Work Experience:
  • Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial record keeping.
  • Familiarity with general ledger systems and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience working within the Office of the State Comptroller policies and procedures is a plus.
Job Duties:
  • Process examiner billing invoices.
  • ssist with entering journal entries in the General Ledger system.
  • id in the preparation of Retaliatory Tax worksheets.
  • Sort Revenue Unit mail and enter filings and cash receipts into the system.
  • Process checks for Licensing and Corporate Affairs.
  • Manually file various paper filings by type and company.
  • dd new Excess Line Brokers into the system.
  • File corporate tax forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented worker.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of Office of the State Comptroller policies and procedures.
  • High level of discretion in handling confidential matters.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and financial record-keeping procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial terminology; ability to compute, classify, and record numerical data.
  • bility to perform routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to maintain accounting records.
  • Capable of checking the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by others.

Misc. Information:
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Overtime is not likely, but possible.
  • background check and fingerprinting will be required.
  • Interviews will be conducted using Microsoft Teams.
  • Client does not provide parking, but the office is accessible by bus and there is metered parking around the building.
