Date of Posting Thursday, January 16, 2025 Closing Date of Posting Until Filled Nature of Work The Middle School Boys and Girls Track Coach is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive track and field program that promotes teamwork, discipline, personal growth, and athletic achievement. The coach will foster a positive and inclusive environment while teaching fundamental skills. Duties and Responsibilities•Coordinate and supervise track program and team.•Ensure student athletes meet eligibility rules.•See that district policies are observed during all activities.•Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices to improve individual and team performance.•Teach proper techniques for track events such as sprints, distance running, relays, hurdles, jumps, and throws.•Develop conditioning programs enhancing athlete's speed, endurance, and strength.•Promote good sportsmanship, self-discipline, and respect among athletes.•Collaborate with the Athletic Director to create a season schedule, including practices, meets, and events.•Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms, requesting replacements as needed.•Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and student progress.•Manage transportation arrangements for away meets. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities•Effectively communicate with all members of the school district and community.•Effectively communicate will students and their family members.•Requires prolonged sitting and standing.•Requires some travel.•Must effectively work in noisy and crowded environments.
