IntroductionThe Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is recruiting for a Contracts Specialist Senior to join the Northwest Team! This full time Permanent position can be headquartered out of Eau Claire, Superior or Spooner. WisDOT is a great place to work! Position SummaryUnder the close, and progressing to limited, supervision of a Transportation Specialist Supervisor for the Region, this position will assist NWR TSS lead workers with administrating and processing the required documents and related correspondence for Administrative, Survey, Plat, Utility, Environmental, and Materials contracts for the NW Transportation Region. This position is responsible for ensuring that all technical services contracting is properly documented, controlled, and executed so that audit requirements will be met. At this level, the employee must regularly exercise independent judgement when making decisions with minimal review of work. This position must have the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet the Region's needs in the delivery of the Northwest Region design and construction program. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. Job DetailsMust have the ability to travel independently with occasional overnight stay. WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. QualificationsQualified applicants will have experience with all the following:
  • Experience or training reviewing and/or managing contracts (may include reading contracts, applying contract provisions, ensuring conformance to contract requirements, auditing for compliance, updating contractual terms, developing policy and procedures.)
  • Experience or training performing financial related duties and/or analyzing financial data (may include invoicing, purchasing, accounting, finance, financial data collection, creating financial reports, accounts reconciliation, accounts payable, budgeting)
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel (e.g. editing/formatting documents, data entry, creating spreadsheets, or comparable tasks)
