Cedar Point Federal Credit Union has an exciting opportunity for a Branch Manager located in Lexington Park, MD. The Branch Manager is responsible for maintaining a highly motivated, well-trained staff, and maintaining effective employee relations. The Branch Manager also monitors and evaluates the work of branch staff to ensure the highest quality of service to members. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
  • Full hiring and termination authority of branch staff, final decisions reviewed by executive management. As necessary; train, coach, evaluate, and discipline staff. Measure the performance and prepare formal evaluations of staff; make recommendations to executive management concerning increases.
  • Monitor the work of branch staff to ensure the highest quality of service to members. Assist staff or members in resolving complex account issues.
  • Overall responsibility for organizing, maintaining, and initiating actions necessary to ensure adequate and efficient daily operations. Reviews executive management instructions and guidelines; interprets and effects the application of these instructions to the fullest intent.
  • Perform branch audits in all areas including but not limited to; vault, loans, accounts, security, ATM, and cash.
  • Oversee the scheduling of staff. Make adjustments pertaining to staff and workflow.
  • Perform branch balancing at all levels to include but not limited to; order cash, balance vault cash, balance miscellaneous transactions, verify Check21, and transmit.
  • Responsible for opening and closing facility; opening/securing vault and money, verifying teller stations are loaded/secure, disarming/arming alarms and responding to alarm calls on an as-needed basis.
  • Keep Management informed of area activities and any significant problems as needed.
  • Have a broad knowledge of Credit Union services and policies and the ability to answer inquiries of a general nature. Responsible for staying current on all products and services offered by the credit union and being proactive in offering these products and services when applicable.

  • Perform assistance in all areas of member service.
  • Become and remain a Notary Public and Signature Guarantee.
  • Complete required and recommended educational courses; Follow all rules and regulations as applicable to job function, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements To be successful in this role, the right candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Three or more years of management experience are required, five or more are preferred.
  • Associate's degree in business, finance, or any related field of study or equivalent work experience required. Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office is an asset
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and communicate those instructions to others
  • Ability to deal tactfully, courteously, and effectively with the public as well as employees
  • Must be flexible to accommodate the schedule of the branch, including Saturdays
Physical Requirements:
  • Visual acuity. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; extensive reading on a computer monitor
  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, either in person or on the phone.
  • Light work. Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
  • Body motions: Standing, walking lifting stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, crawling. Pushing and pulling.
  • Fingers and hands: Grasping, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Making substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
