Job Purpose The Brand Ambassador - Manhattan, New York supports marketing & sales by promoting Wana Brands through a variety of customer and dispensary facing activities, helping to coordinate marketing activities, providing merchandising support and educating dispensaries and budtenders on the Wana brand. The candidate must live in New York and previous industry experience is preferred. We require a background check and motor vehicle check. You must have a clean driving record. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Work with marketing & sales team to schedule and provide regular presence in dispensaries.
  • Schedule and conduct budtender trainings.
  • Schedule and attend customer appreciation events.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and manage Wana events including human resources associated with event.
  • Manage swag inventory and budget.
  • Assist in collecting competitive information.
  • Effectively execute new launch materials and displays at store level.
  • Ensure proper placement of select POP materials to increase share of shelf at dispensaries.
  • Produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory.
  • Promote the Wana brand to retail store personnel and consumers in a professional manner.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with all in-store personnel.
  • Seek out and report new opportunities, areas for improvement, competitive information/activity, etc.
  • Suggest ways to improve process or marketing at POS.
  • Analyze customer reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs.
  • Remain up to date with industry's best practices.
  • Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying Wana products appropriately.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven working experience in brand ambassadorship, marketing, or merchandising a plus.
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • High level of organization.
  • Excellent execution and follow-through.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to be assertive, yet diplomatic.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Cannabis and/or related retail experience.
  • A reliable vehicle for travel to in-state events and retail locations.
  • Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to decode customers.

  • Previous cannabis industry experience.
  • Previous customer service or event experience.
  • Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous brand ambassador experience.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual compensation commensurate with experience from $50,000 - $65,000.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This position is exempt from overtime pay due to administrative employee exemption. This job requires hours outside of normal business hours. This position does require some evening and weekend work depending on the event schedule. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Work Environment There may be early mornings or late nights and work will primarily be performed out of the office and at dispensaries or other industry events. This position will require flexible hours and your own reliable transportation for transporting product and materials. This position will work 80% in the field traveling to dispensaries, pop-up events, and other marketing and promotional events. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The employee frequently is required to set up heavy equipment, move boxes, folding tables, bins of merchandise, tents, banners, and other materials as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Must be able to stand and talk with others for up to 4 hours at a time.
