Summary:

Use creative skills and judgment to produce effective and thoughtful design in producing materials for company needs, for both internal and external uses.

Reinforce the strategic creative direction by adhering to our brand standards and style guides resulting in a consistent representation regardless of the medium.

Ability to perform very detailed functions and handle multiple tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines is essential for this position.

Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, while using design resources and industry references to create new ideas is a critical function of this job.

Advanced design skills and creative copy writing skills are also a key element in this position.

Essential Functions:

(Primary accountability for specific functions and results. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.)

• Collaborate with the Creative Team to follow creative strategies in order to deliver solutions that support the business needs of the brand.

• Create strategic and effective design, copy and layout for brand communication including but not limited to: programs, campaigns, and advertising through mass advertising channels, in store materials, weekly circular, social media, digital marketing and internal communication collateral.

• Initiate solutions as necessary in a timely and agreeable manner.

• Contribute as the design advisor and industry-expert for our internal customers on all of their marketing initiatives.

• Consult and direct third party vendors on all creative endeavors.

• Responsible for accuracy and thoroughness of own work.

• Follow established advertising processes and procedures.

• Make recommendations to update processes when opportunities arise.

Photography:

• Create photography for use in all print, digital & social media.

• Assist in the direction and management of photo & video shoots with

outside vendors when necessary.

• Adhere to brand standards across photography and videography projects.

• Manage and optimize brand photography style and guidelines.

• Communicate to department associates aware of what new photography is available for

use and where it can be located.

• Make recommendations to update processes when opportunities arise.

Presentations:

• Assist in the creation of pitch decks to present creative strategy and concepts.

• Create effective and thoughtful design, copy and layout for presentations including but not limited to: annual sales meetings, board meetings, internal presentations, training materials, formal documents, etc.

• Periodic travel may be required for all sales meeting events.

• Direct and manage third-party vendors during all sales meeting events.

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical/strategic thinker

• Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects

• Proficiency in wide range of media including photography

• Highly proficient in InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop

• General knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel in Mac and PC environment

Education/Experience:

• Minimum Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

• Three years' work experience in design or retail advertising field is required.

• Must be able to produce a portfolio of professionally published work, either in a physical portfolio or website.

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree

• Adobe Creative Suite

• Adobe Workfront

• Food or Grocery Retail Design Experience

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Design software; Internet software and Project Management software.
