Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Bridge Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
* Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects
* Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff
* Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project's development
* Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
* Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
* Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice
* Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure completion of documents on schedule
* Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable-stayed), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
* Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
* Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
* Mentor younger staff and support continued development
* Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering
* Minimum 7 years of bridge design experience
* Minimum 2 years of project management experience
* PE
* Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design, preservation/rehab and inspection projects
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and MicroStation
* Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
* Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
* Project management skills including project scheduling
* Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
* Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects
* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Engineering
* PMP certification
* Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LPile, SAP2000, CSiBridge, CTBridge, MS Project
* FHWA/NBIS Bridge Inspection Certification
* Movable Bridge Design Experience
