Your Responsibilities

Brokers work with senior broking staff supporting revenue generation at Lockton Re through the placing of reinsurance contracts. Brokers are involved with multiple facets of reinsurance broking including developing client and market relationships, conducting industry research, training junior staff, RFP activity and executing on existing renewals. This is a chance to join a new and rapidly growing team within Lockton Re with great exposure to senior management and direct involvement in the sales process.

Broker Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Broker(s) in the production, design, analysis and administration of reinsurance programs on behalf of client partners.
  • Prepare submissions, obtain quotations, and represent our client partners in the reinsurance marketplace.
  • Handle and maintain files, negotiate contract subjectivities and other open items (e.g. special acceptances).
  • Liaise with clients and reinsurance markets for day-to-day account inquiries.
  • Liaise with the claims, accounting and contract departments to ensure consistent and best-in-class service standards.
  • Collaborate with Market Security to advise clients on reinsurers' financial condition.
  • Liaise with the Compliance department where necessary to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Be accountable to Senior Broker(s) to provide excellent and timely service to clients.
  • Monitor and summarize key industry developments, bank regulation updates, key economic indicators and other relevant industry news.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's or Graduate degree in business-related field preferred.
  • 0-5 Years of insurance, broking, investment banking or other finance-related experience preferred.
  • Excellent market research, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required.
  • Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including research and investigation and provide solutions to standard and non-standard issues.
  • Understanding of key factors/differentiators that prospective clients seek from their broker partner.
  • Ability to analyze proposals/presentations from a client or prospect's perspective and create the best work project.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility to create a positive work environment.
  • CFA Charterholder or progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.
