Budget Manager
Reporting to the Controller, the Budget Manager will supervise the Budget Analyst(s) in establishing, analyzing and forecasting project financial data for WSFSSH s building budgets and monitoring and analyzing General Ledger accounts related to revenue and expenditure. Specific Duties for the Budget Manager include the following:
BUDGETING
Supervise the Budget Analyst in performing day to day budget functions
Review and maintain budget module in MIP Accounting system
Monitor the PCS system with day-to-day changes of salary budget
Review and upload payroll actual data from ADP to PCS and then to MIP
Reconcile the salary expenses between two systems PCS and MIP (both Actual and Budget) on a monthly basis
Monitor all payroll re-class entries in PCS and MIP
Analyze the budget trends, variances and historical financial performance on various bases
Communicate/liaise effectively with building managers and other WSFSSH staff relating to budget issues
Prepare and Review the monthly budget variance reports and quarterly forecast reports at both consolidated level and at individual program/building level for Senior Management and for Building Managers
Assist in preparing contract and grant budgets in compliance with contract/grant terms and conditions
Assist in preparing the Consolidated Budget Reports (CBR) and the Consolidated Financial Reports (CFR) using the New York State Software
Other responsibilities as assigned by CFO, Controller and Senior Management
Assist with annual year-end audits and government audits
OTHER
Work as a member of a team to establish and maintain high level of professionalism and show respect for staff and residents alike
Work cooperatively with supervisor and other staff members
Follow WSFSSH Policies & Procedures
Attend training sessions and conferences as required for enhancement of job skills
Meet all deadlines in a complete and timely manner
Work tolerantly and respectfully with persons of diverse backgrounds, differing levels of experience and varying degrees of responsibility.
Remain flexible, adaptive and responsive, assisting with other duties as is needed to benefit WSFSSH, the residents and the team.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree; major of Finance or Accounting preferred
5+ years of work experience in financial analysis and/or budgeting
2+ years of supervisory experience
Non-Profit experience a plus
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Internet search/usage
Experience with budgeting/accounting software; MIP preferred)
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable, to multi-task, to effectively handle competing priorities and to safeguard confidential information with propriety within the framework of WSFSSH policies and all federal, state, and local laws
