The BUILD (Baccalaureate for University of Indianapolis Learning Disabled) department at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applicants for a BUILD Tutor. The BUILD Tutor provides academic support to University students with learning disabilities.
This is a part-time, hourly, temporary position with no benefits. Filling multiple positions to begin on [DATE].
Responsibilities
* Follows the guidance and direction of supervisor(s)
* Demonstrates respectful, ethical, responsible behavior
* Abides by the University's policies, procedures, and rules
* Performs employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies
* Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
* Provides structured, scheduled tutoring sessions to students
* Keeps documentation on each session with students
* Communicates weekly with Director on student progress or concerns
* Increases knowledge and understanding of learning disabilities and academic strategies to better support students
* Attends staff meetings and special events of BUILD
* Monitors, reads, and scribes assigned exams
* Completes other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned
* Uses computers and related technology efficiently
Qualifications
* Experience working with college-aged students with learning disabilities is preferred
* Bachelor's degree is required
* Regular and predictable attendance is required
* Must have the knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently
* Good organizational skills are required
* Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
* Must be able to think outside of the box to come up with learning solutions
