Position Title:Building & Grounds Worker
Salary Range: Building and Grounds Worker, Grade 3, non-exempt, $23.75 - $30.88 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Job Description Summary:Under the direction and in the absence of the Building Superintendent, this position is responsible for performing custodial and grounds work, providing proper maintenance and repair of building and grounds, and supervision of building during after-hours meetings.
Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Groundskeeping- Operates grounds maintenance equipment in a safe and courteous manner; performs preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Maintains existing lawn, shrubs and trees
- Maintains road surfaces and parking lots
- Provides snow removal of walkways and entrances
2. Building maintenance- Operates mechanical cleaning equipment in a safe and courteous manner; performs preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Disposes of waste materials to maintain sanitary conditions
- Collects and empties waste paper and garbage receptacles into large dumpster
- Collects and empties recyclable materials into large dumpster
- Cleans windows, walls, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures in order to maintain cleanliness and provide an attractive environment by dusting and washing
- Performs maintenance of HVAC system, conducts testing and prepares reports of same as necessary
- Receives and distributes supplies; monitors inventory of supplies and notifies the BGS when inventory is low and needs replacing
- Calls for maintenance services as necessary to ensure efficient operation of equipment (security system, fire alarm system, HVAC system, building envelope)
- Handles, applies, and disposes of cleaning agents in a safe and proper manner
3. Warehouse receiving- Operates warehouse equipment in a safe and courteous manner; performs preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Loads and unloads freight, materials, and equipment to provide necessary transportation and storage
- Distributes items by manually lifting and carrying materials as required
4. Meeting rooms- Sets up and takes down tables and chairs for meeting spaces as instructed on facility use form
- Provides supervision of building during after-hours meetings
- Cleans up following meeting
5. Other duties as assignedAdditional Job Description:Required Qualifications- High School Diploma
- Good physical condition sufficient to carry out duties of position
- Three years of experience
- Valid MN driver's license
Preferred Qualifications- Boiler's license
- Forklift Operator Certification
