Position reports to Director of Physical Facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. - Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs to all institutional facilities, equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
- Coordinate key distribution for college facilities through a key control system.
- Move, set-up, and install furniture and equipment to meet special institutional needs.
- Assist in monitoring institutional heating/air conditioning systems and units to insure proper working condition.
- Perform regular routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance on all institutional vehicles.
- Supports faculty and staff members by making needed repairs to offices, building and installing shelves, hanging pictures, moving furniture, etc.
- Follows proper safety procedures.
- Monitors, implements and coordinates provisions of the College's emergency management plans.
- Maintain key control system, inventory, cut, and receive keys/ key cards for the campus.
- Inspects fire and smoke alarm systems regularly, making necessary minor adjustments and making recommendations for major adjustments to the supervisor.
- Assist in various campus repair projects.
- Assist in grounds maintenance and beautification.
- Assist in providing campus security by ensuring that facilities are properly locked and unlocked.
- Pick up and deliver campus mail to and from post office.
- In consultation with supervisor, identify a set of goals and objectives to be completed annually.
- Attend required meetings, including participation in graduation.
- Participate in scheduled staff development activities.
- Assist with equipment and software maintenance.
- Acquire computer/technology competencies as appropriate to position.
- Maintain security of personal computer access.
- Perform other professional or job-related duties as assigned.
- Serve on college committees as directed by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS: Education/Skills Required: High school diploma or GED plus 3-5 years directly related work experience; or 1-year diploma plus 1 - 2 years directly related work experience. Forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain Forklift Operator Certification within 60 days; valid North Carolina Driver's License.Preferred: Bilingual; Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) ExperienceRequired: Some experience in various aspects of carpentry, installations, and other maintenance related fields. Preferred: Some experience in building or maintenance repair.
