Rice County is currently hiring a Building Operations Supervisor to be part of our Facilities team that works together maintaining 13 Facilities and, most recently, adding the Public Safety Center as our newest facility increasing building square footage managed by 30%. The Building Operations Supervisor provides daily organizational planning and supervision of the activities and operations of all Rice County owned and operated facilities, grounds and County fleet. The Supervisor provides supervision of the Facilities staff and assigns daily work details. Responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of locks and keys throughout Rice County facilities. Examples of Duties
- Directs, organizes, and plans the activities of the Maintenance Workers, and Maintenance Worker/Custodial Lead.
- Assists Facilities Manager with interpreting and preserving the integrity of the organization's master key system.
- Oversees the operations and maintenance of HVAC systems and numerous mechanical systems in County facilities. Maintains 24-hour availability in the event of a building emergency.
- Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Ensures the safety and security of all County-owned facilities and grounds ensuring doors are being locked and alarm systems are checked appropriately.
- Maintains positive working relationships and communications with all County, City, and State departments and staff as well as vendors, contractors, and the public as necessary and/or required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:This position requires an Associate's Degree or two years of post-secondary education in Building Maintenance or Building Controls and Operations, and three to five years of experience with facilities maintenance and Building Controls or an equivalent combination of a High School Diploma and minimum 5 years of experience in a Building Facilities Maintenance position. A valid driver's license and 1st Class MN Boiler License is required upon hirePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least one year of Supervisory experience and County building operation experience is preferred.
