Summary:
The Disaster Recovery Plans Examiner for will review and approve construction plans for structures undergoing hurricane-related repair, rebuilding, or improvements. This position ensures that all construction activities adhere to updated codes and regulations, promoting community resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and engineering plans for hurricane-damaged structures to ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
- Work with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that designs include structural enhancements to withstand future natural disasters.
- Collaborate with the Building Inspector to address any issues found during inspections that require plan modifications.
- Ensure expedited review of recovery-related permits and projects to facilitate timely reconstruction.
- Maintain documentation of all plan approvals and permit issuances for recovery-related projects.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Plans Examiner in Florida.
- Thorough knowledge of Florida building codes, safety standards, and structural engineering principles.
- Experience with recovery-focused plan review is a plus.
