Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/SecretaryDate Posted: 10/21/2024Location: Southeast ElementaryClosing Date: 10/28/2024Building Secretary Classified Opening Full-Time, 12 Months Southeast Elementary Reports To: Building Principal Job Goal: To complete the detailed and written work and to coordinate matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized. The Building Secretary positions have the primary responsibility for providing clerical support to principals, athletic director, and school attendance. These individuals respond to inquiries from the public, either in person or on the telephone, and maintain records in accordance with district policies and procedures. General Responsibilities:
  • Greeting visitors, answering telephone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner, and communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters.
  • Adapts to the variety of responsibilities.
  • Presents a positive image in contacts with the parents, community and staff.
  • Protect confidentiality of records and information about students and staff, and use discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines.
  • Display ethical and professional behavior in working with everyone who communicates or is associated with the office. Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, accepting responsibility, and an effective work ethic.
  • Organize and maintain an efficient and effective office that handles a variety of tasks for the administration, faculty, students, and parents of the school.
  • Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality
  • Qualifications: Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent; Other Requirements: Courteous telephone manners; the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, patrons and school personnel; good work attitude with a positive and pleasant disposition; working knowledge of office machines; excellent computer skills; and good attendance record. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills.
