Morehead State University delivers a strong and affordable education for friendly, ambitious students who thrive in a student-focused learning environment defined by small class sizes and faculty committed to teaching and student success.RESPONSIBILITIES: This position serves as primary Building Services Technician and primary Aquatics Technician for the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC). This position is responsible for performing the duties necessary for cleaning and maintaining wellness facilities and for assuring the safe operation of the RWC swimming pool in compliance with the Kentucky Public Swimming and Bathing Facilities Regulations. The technician is responsible for all custodial services and all maintenance for the swimming pool. This position utilizes appropriate tools and equipment to operate and maintain the swimming pool, which may include cleaning, servicing, and maintaining the pool and all related equipment and machinery. In relation to the swimming pool, the technician will be expected to chemically test the water, adjust the pool chemistry, backwash, clean, perform preventive maintenance, and make repairs to associated equipment. The technician is responsible for the requisition, receiving, storing, and maintaining an adequate inventory of custodial and swimming pool supplies and materials.REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. One year of experience in maintaining swimming pools or mechanical maintenance. Ability to use basic hand tools, lubrication equipment, meters, electric hand tools, water tester, pool vacuum, power washer, and water test kits. Must possess a Certified Pool Operation Certification or obtain within one year. Must have the ability to communicate well with faculty and staff. Must be in good physical condition. Valid Kentucky driver's license required.
