- Able to work with students in a classroom, small group, or one-to-one setting
- Demonstrates flexibility to support all school programs as needed daily
- Highly committed to working in a collaborative school environment
- Prior experience working with at-risk youth and families, schools, and community agencies
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Understanding and/or experience in implementing Trauma Informed Practices
- Excellent problem solving, flexibility and relationship building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent technology skills (Google Suite and Student Information System)
LICENSURE: Professional Educator License (PEL); Substitute Teacher License; Paraprofessional License FUNCTION: In conjunction with school personnel, support students with regard to academics, social-emotional skills, positive behavior choices, and assist in maintaining a positive and safe school climate REPORTS TO: Principal and ALOP/Rebound Program Coordinator EMPLOYEE TERMS: Working daily for the 23/24 school year. Work day is 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. SALARY RANGE AND BENEFIT TERMS: Daily pay rate of $150. There are no benefits offered with this position in addition to the daily rate of pay. DESCRIPTION OF TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports classroom continuity as a substitute teacher as needed Supports classroom instruction as a classroom teaching assistant, small group facilitator or one-to-one assistant Supervises students assigned to In-School Intervention/Suspension Assists with student absence recording and parent follow up Assists with the recording and maintenance of student academic, attendance and behavior documentation for reporting purposes Assists with positive student interventions and supports Maintains a presence on the Center for Student Success campus and assists in supervising students and staff Assists with monitoring campus security i.e. hallway, gym, restroom, and grounds Demonstrates an understanding of best practices for successful student behavior management strategies through a trauma sensitive lens Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the building Principal and/or ALOP and Rebound Program Coordinator
