Job Summary:

The Bulk Cannabis Specialist plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the quality and consistent supply of cannabis materials for production. This position involves managing the intake of cannabis materials, building and sustaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring effective coordination of material pickups. The Bulk Cannabis Specialist works closely with multiple departments, including Production, Compliance, and Accounting, to maintain inventory accuracy and streamline communication.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accurately receive and track all cannabis materials, ensuring that all graded products meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Verify all batch records submitted by the Production department to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Production department to determine cannabis material needs, ensuring timely supply to meet scheduled production goals.
  • Generate cannabis infusions in the ERP system, ensuring accurate allocation of materials.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure that all returning materials are accounted for.
  • Regularly reconcile inventory between ERP and METRC systems to maintain up-to-date and accurate data.
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with vendors and the Distribution team to ensure timely transfers of cannabis materials.
  • Work closely with the Compliance department to ensure that METRC inventory is current and accurate.
  • Review all Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for tested materials with the Compliance department, ensuring that only high-quality materials are used in finished goods.
  • Forecast inventory needs based on the production schedule, coordinating with the Procurement department to maintain continuity in production.
  • Use sound judgment to implement best practices and suggest improvements to inventory processes.
  • Lead and support staff to meet organizational goals, fostering teamwork and ensuring the completion of tasks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Accounting departments to ensure accurate material tracking and proper accounting, facilitating effective interdepartmental communication.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience in cannabis material handling, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Ability to provide clear and actionable feedback based on cannabis grading results.
  • Willingness to continuously refine grading skills and adapt to new methodologies as the cannabis industry evolves.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis industry standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in grading cannabis based on specific traits and characteristics.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work effectively with various departments to ensure cohesive operations and communication.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the cannabis industry, with direct experience in inventory management preferred.
