We are currently looking for a Bulk Material Handler to support our Renewable Chemical Plant in Van Wert, Ohio. This person is responsible for all material and liquid handling to help load and unload tank trucks, railcars, and other. This position would have a starting would pay between $17-$20 per hour.

POSITION FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately load and unload liquids in tank trucks, railcars, and other vessels.
  • Transfer liquid materials between tanks in a precise and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain meticulous records of material transfers and handling activities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and surrounding area.
  • Ensure EH&S and company policies are followed.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands (Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):

  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, carrying, grasping, talking and hearing.
  • Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination, or part time concentrated attention and coordination.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Medium work - exert up to 25 pounds of force continuously and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or over 60 pounds occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions (Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):

  • Inside conditions mostly in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, vibration, physical hazards (electrical current, oils, chemicals) and adverse atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, gases, acids). Physical conditions include close proximity to moving mechanical parts.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Previous experience in bulk material handling is preferred.

  • Hand tools, mechanical tools, forklift, computer, fax machine, scanner, phone, email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, preferably MS Office 360, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Training Required:

  • Forklift certification.
  • Valid driver's license may be required if operating Trucent vehicles.
