Blue Seal/Kent Nutrition Group(KNG), a member of the KENT Corporation family of companies has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Bulk Unloader Operator at our Richford, VT plant! This is a full-time opportunity with a schedule of 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.The Bulk Unloader Operator is responsible for unloading ingredients in an efficient manner for optimum production. Also responsible for necessary unloading documentation, area conditions, and equipment inspection.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of the finished feed and ingredients to the immediate supervisor.
  • Unload ingredients of high quality, as efficiently and proficiently as possible. Notify Quality Control Supervisor before unloading any ingredients that do not met standards.
  • Set up all distributor heads-slides, legs, and conveyors, so that the ingredient will go onto the proper bin with precautions taken to eliminate contamination of other bins.
  • Complete ingredient unloading authorization form and have it checked by authorized personnel before starting to unload any item.
  • Check car door seals and if they are broken, report it to supervisor. Verify seal number matches seal number on bill of lading prior to unloading.
  • Take probe samples in accordance with the quality control procedures before unloading.
  • Become familiar with ingredients.
  • Check for color, odor, particle size, and contamination.
  • Make complete check of cars for possible roof or floor leaks.
  • Will use care and safety precautions in handling or using all equipment.
  • Will keep Maintenance Supervisor informed of performance of all equipment and will complete maintenance request form on all malfunctioning equipment.
  • Will keep area clean and neat at all times.
  • Will assist in any area of production as requested by his shift supervisor.
  • At shift end, make sure following shift unloader understands unloading status.
  • Will clean leg magnets at beginning of each shift.
  • Will take a physical inventory of each ingredient bin at the start of each shift.
  • Must perform all work in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by plant management.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Good communication, verbal, written and math skills.
  • Work and cooperate with all fellow employees.
  • Thorough understanding of cGMP's.
  • Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan.
  • Knowledge of FSMA.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to working height, as job requires.
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or GED.
