This position is represented by the GUILD bargaining unit.This is an in-person, full-time, 12 month position, with a standard workweek of Monday through Friday, occasional Saturday as needed.This Bursar manages the activities of the Student Accounts area including supervision and professional development of staff. The position is responsible for all billings and receivables, including the computer interface between the Student Billing & Receivable System and the Financial System. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Reconciling general ledger accounts.Ensuring that all funds are properly accounted for.Receipt and required maintenance of all college funds.Accounting for all imprest funds. This position also assists in developing procedures and internal controls to ensure that the College is in compliance with all federal and state regulations with regard to financial aid disbursement, student loan and residency requirements as well as generally accepted accounting principles. Position also counsels and advises students on the tuition and fee payment process. Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or a related field, required. Including or supplemented by a minimum of eighteen (18) credit hours of accounting coursework with at least two (2) to three (3) years working in the accounting field.Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a business office, preferably in a community college or higher education setting and two (2) to three (3) years of supervisory experience required.Successful candidate must have a demonstrated understanding and commitment to internal control with strong communication and team building skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse college community and external contacts.Strong analytical, problem solving, and computer skills are required.
