Job Description$1,000 Sign-on BonusJOB CATEGORY: TRANSPORATION/ CHILDHOOD EDUCATION / SUPPORT CAREPOSITION SUMMARY: This is a combined job description for Bus Driver and Program Aide.BUS DRIVER: This position is responsible for the safe and timely transport of children enrolled in a PMS Children Services Program. Maintains vehicle in a safe and clean condition.PROGRAM AIDE: This position is responsible for assisting in the classroom, in the kitchen and/or maintaining safe and orderly transportation for children to and from the program facility. Classroom, center and bus assignments and routes may be changed as deemed necessary for program operations.QualificationsREQUIREMENTSEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 18 years or older.

- Must complete a 45 hour entry level course or an approved three credit early care and education course or equivalent approved by the New Mexico Children Youth & Families Department prior to or within six months of hire.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire. Certifications must meet the requirements listed in the document BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources posted on Staurolite. It is your responsibility to keep your certifications current at all times.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:This position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment:
- Health exam (and annually thereafter in accordance with PMS Policies).
- TB Test (and upon exposure in accordance with PMS Policies).
In accordance with the federal Head Start Act, Section 648A (g) and the New Mexico Administrative Code 8.8.3., this position requires:Criminal Background Checks.
- As a condition of initial and continuing employment, subject to post offer of employment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, as required by PMS Policy on Drug and Alcohol Testing, II.D.4.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Class A, B, or C along with a P endorsement. Must also have an S endorsement or obtain it within 30 days of employment.
- Must provide and maintain a current Medical Examiner's Certificate as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation 3.91.43.
- Must provide a current motor vehicle record.
- Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and must maintain a satisfactory driving record that is within the limitations of PMS Human Resources Policy 202.018, Automobile Usage, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Must submit to post offer of employment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, as required by PMS Policy Drug and Alcohol Testing for Safety-Sensitive Employees, 202.019.
- Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, 202.018; Drug Free Workplace, 203.007; Drug and Alcohol Testing Program for Safety-Sensitive Employees, 202.019; and applicable state and federal laws.
- Must complete transportation related trainings.
