Data/Business Analyst - I

Hybrid (1 day / week onsite in NYC)

Contract (6 months to start with likely extensions)

General Summary:

Join the Core Platform Product Management (CPPM) team within Global Trading Solutions (GTS), a division driving technology modernization and operational efficiency across Global Markets. GTS focuses on enhancing customer experience while meeting regulatory and compliance needs.

The CPPM group develops cross-business product solutions and manages core platform operations, global equity applications, and low-latency infrastructure. As part of Project AERO, CPPM is building a dashboard to provide accurate and timely exposure and collateral information, optimizing lending and borrowing efficiency across Capital Markets.

We are seeking a Business Analyst with a development background to support Project AERO. In this role, you will gather and analyze complex financial data, collaborating with diverse teams across Capital Markets. You will also work with our in-house data transformation platform, GMTC (Global Markets Transaction Capture), to deliver impactful solutions.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of experience in the Capital Markets domain and a passion for bridging technology and business needs.

Responsibilities of the job:

  • Business analyst will have to work with Operations teams to analyze, document existing flows.
  • Work w/ technology teams to determine how best to extract required data.
  • Work w/ Collateral management group to understand the daily operations and limitations of the current process.
  • Learn how to use GMTC, build flows. Handle technical aspects of scheduling, file transfers, etc.
  • Work w/ Capital Markets Data Architecture group to determine normalization.
  • Understand securities and derivatives trading, positions, valuation, etc.
  • Understand system functionality and how data moves through from end to end.
  • Analyze business and functional data requirements in support of business initiatives.
  • Troubleshooting complex questions and workflows.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Document bugs/enhancements to address system requirements.
  • Report and manage software issues and test activities throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Contribute to and review business/tech specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience would be considered.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Must be / have:

  • Knowledge of financial markets and technology.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work and excel autonomously on job responsibilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate command in prioritization and reporting project status.

In addition, it would be a plus to have:

  • Experience with PowerBI or other report writing tools.
  • Experience with Calypso, GlobalOne, LoanIQ.
  • Prior experience in trading or trade support environment.
  • Experience in FIX protocol.
  • Knowledgeable with Windows & Linux OS platforms, command line.
  • Understand the Treasury function – collateral pledging, substitution, collateral schedules, basic optimization.
  • Understand Securities Finance (Stock borrow & loan).
