OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is a growing employee-owned engineering, architecture, surveying, and geospatial firm, founded in 1955 and headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado. We are seeking a Business Development professional to support Business Development strategies and pursuits with the High Performance Facilities (HPF) business unit. The HPF business unit specializes in facility design for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.

This is a wonderful opportunity that provides leadership opportunities in business development, in an atmosphere among highly skilled, collaborative, and motivated team members. This position is needed to support HPF's continued growth in the federal government market.

The preferred locations for this person would be our offices in Greenwood Village (Denver Metro), CO; San Antonio, TX; Tulsa, OK; Chamblee, GA; Huntsville, AL; or Merritt Island, FL. Other locations / remote to be considered.

Typical salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $154,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Analyzes client information and budgets for business development opportunities fitting the HPF business plan.
  • Identifies, tracks and researches opportunities with DoD agencies (i.e., USACE Districts, AFCEC, NAVFAC, etc).
  • Participates in the internal Key Account Management (KAM) meetings to develop strategy to advance client relationships.
  • Maintains client relationships with DoD decision makers and leads strategy for capabilities briefings.
  • Works directly with the HPF Business Unit Leader, HPF Business Development colleagues and Project Managers in mining existing IDIQ contracts for task orders, and positioning for recompete IDIQ contracts.
  • Works directly with Central Marketing Services and Project Managers in the strategy and preparation of proposals, and other marketing materials.
  • Participates in Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) industry days and conferences, and other external organizations as appropriate.
  • Uses the central CRM system, Cosential, for contact and opportunity tracking.
  • Occasional travel to client facilities and project sites under construction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong experience in the Department of Defense facilities design field.
  • An existing network of Department of Defense military facility clients and teaming partners is preferred.
  • Experience with database entry and queries.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Travel is required and could be up to 25% of the position's time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Architecture, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications preferred).
  • A professional engineer or architecture license is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of related professional experience; Active military engineering or Federal A/E industry experience is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
