Job Description :

Our client is a leading private markets firm specializing in real estate, with an AUM in excess of $10bn. They are currently seeking to recruit a senior investor relations and business development professional to grow their institutional investor base across the US region.

The successful candidate will play a critical role on the investor relations team, leading many initiatives supporting the firm's business development strategies. The role can be based in any of the firm's offices across the US (the final location is not limited to New York).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the firm's business development strategy for the US region, focusing on fundraising from institutional investors.
  • Develop and maintain US investor relationships at all levels, working collaboratively with the wider IR team to ensure effective management of current and prospective investors.
  • Actively map the US LP market to identify potential investors.
  • Proactively approach prospective investors to convert new LPs across the firm's current strategies and future opportunities.
  • Promote and raise the profile of the firm within the global LP community.
  • Lead US fundraising efforts both internally and with external partners.
  • Collaborate with other teams across IR, investment professionals, reporting, legal, and operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
  • Provide market feedback to support and drive future product development.
  • Work with junior members of the team to promote best in class processes and to develop their skill set
  • Proactive travel to build new relationships

Desired Experience/Background

  • 15+ years of experience in private markets investor relations focusing on US institutional fundraising and business development.
  • Proven track record and demonstrative expertise in building an institutional client base
  • Fluency with capital markets and the ability to clearly articulate how and why the firm's highly specialized products will perform well through various cycles.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully closing capital commitments from LPs.
  • Ability to command the respect and confidence of existing and potential institutional investors.
  • High degree of financial literacy.
  • Ability to lead complex workstreams with tight deadlines and involving coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Team player and adept at quickly building relationships with colleagues across the organization.
  • Able to work well within a diversified global team and interact with senior management.
  • High level of self-motivation, integrity, and judgment.
