Reporting to the Business Development Director, the Business Development Manager will manage the department's day-to-day operations, executing the strategies developed by the Business Development Director, ensuring seamless operational flow, and driving team performance to meet underwriting and sponsorship goals. - Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Business Development Team, ensuring that all objectives align with the strategic goals set by the Business Development Director.
- Assist in the development and execution of departmental strategies, operating plans, and budgets.
- Monitor progress towards revenue, growth objectives, and performance measurements, making recommendations for improvements.
- Provide operational leadership, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the department's goals and adhering to best practices.
- Lead meetings and project briefings to ensure the department stays on track.
- Support the cultivation of relationships with key sponsors and underwriters, acting as a point of contact for both new and existing relationships.
- Assist in building and maintaining strategic media and agency relationships under the guidance of the Business Development Director.
- Ensure that all sponsorship and underwriting relationships are nurtured and effectively managed by the team.
- Work with the Business Development Director to manage the department's budget, ensuring that revenue targets are met.
- Analyze cost structures and assist in developing pricing strategies for underwriting and sponsorships.
- Monitor financial performance and report regularly on progress, identifying areas for cost savings or revenue growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Development Director.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or five years of experience in a business development or revenue-generating role.
- Experience in managing client relationships and generating revenue through partnerships or sponsorships.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage day-to-day operations.
- Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience working in media, particularly radio or broadcast, with knowledge of underwriting or advertising models.
- Ten years of experience in a business development or revenue-generating role.
- Two years of supervisory experience, with demonstrated success in leading teams.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets through effective team management.
