The Business Development Representative will be responsible for leading sales and client-relationship management, tracking emerging trends within the defense market segment, recommending new products and services, and developing new strategic partnerships. They will participate in writing proposals and guiding long-term objectives to meet business needs and requirements in the defense sector. Job Type: Full-time * This position can be remote if in a desired location. Travel is required up to 50%. * Development and execution of the Strategic Plan for the assigned Defense business segment. These plans need to communicate detailed market assessments with near and long-term priorities, segments include Naval, Air Force & Army. * Develop and execute a go to market plan for each assigned defense market segment. * Participate in industry events, symposiums, and trade shows as assigned. * Individually manage customer centric opportunities through development with the aid of operational leadership where required. * Lead the pursuit and capture activity for market segment ensuring a timely response to the customer while moving the pursuit through the gated proposal cycle. * Provide focus in the capture activity to understand the competitive environment, the source selection process, criteria, requirements and the political landscape of the account. * Communicate to internal groups the outcome of the negotiations/proposals focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group (i.e., clear details, critical timeframes, and expectations that will need to be managed). * Customer Satisfaction: ensure that an enduring and sustainable support strategy is in place to ensure a long-term relationship can be achieved. * Manage and execute Policy Deployment action plans & countermeasures as assigned. * Lead all aspects of business development from customer engagement, contracts review, proposal development, road mapping, and financial capacity forecasting. * Identify and respond to RFPs from defense primes for new and continuing program opportunities. Job Requirements New Business Capture * Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for customers and internal communications. * Keep potential customers apprised on company s new products and price development details on a regular basis. * Coordinates and Implements field sales scheduling and reporting, action plans, and accountability for sales opportunities. * Delivers presentations to company executives and management teams to highlight business or marketing opportunities or to present the results of new strategies. Qualifications * Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, , Materials Science, Business Administration, or related field * 10+ years of industry experience in business development, program management, and technical sales in the defense industries, successfully leading a sales initiatives and projects * Critical thinker and problem solver * Great communication and presentation skills * Excellent command of MS Office and CRM software * Bachelor s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or related field * Experienced with DoD programs, including full product life cycle * Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS * Military experience at senior command and/or staff levels (preferred but not a must).
