Business Development Representative:
General Description
• A business development professional is involved in identifying opportunities for business
and market growth while optimizing marketing strategies.
• The business development professional may coordinate with company executives, sales
and marketing professionals, customers, and potential customers.
• The goal is to help the company achieve its long-term goals and expand into new
markets.
• This position will be assigned oversight and responsibility for managing all quotes,
orders, and projects accepted by us for specific customers.
• Responsibilities include providing day-to-day oversight of all quotes, projects, and orders
entered into our sales and production cycle, in cooperation with sales management.
• The position requires gathering, documenting, and scheduling all key information
essential for the successful completion of quotes and projects in a timely and accurate
manner.
• Daily tasks include collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Drafting, Purchasing,
Production, Quality Control, Project Management, and Shipping to develop and monitor
a predictable schedule that meets customer needs and ensures on-time, on-budget delivery.
Essential Functions/Major Duties
• Use appropriate software tools to develop schedules that accurately predict delivery
timelines for key information critical to production.
• Work with the Project Manager to establish delivery dates for orders and projects.
• Maintain, manage, and update our POS spreadsheet (Quotes and Orders Schedule).
• Review customer specifications, drawings, and requirements at the estimate and order
stages in cooperation with our Opportunity Review Team.
• Identify essential information and specifications for our teams to develop and complete
fabrication and installation drawings, ensuring quality-driven products.
• Collaborate as part of the Product Development Team.
• Determine the type and source of materials required for products.
• Clarify customer needs regarding delivery timelines for parts or products.
• Collaborate with estimators to provide cost estimates for timely product delivery.
• Complete weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
• Facilitate problem-solving across departments to ensure delivery commitments are met.
• Handle customer inquiries, qualifying customers for short- and long-term needs.
• Coordinate with Production and Project Management to provide accurate product
delivery projections.
• Provide technical assistance via phone and email.
• Perform other tasks as defined by the President, General Manager, or Sales Manager.

• Knowledge of the telecommunications and utility industries.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, word-processing, project management, and sales order/BOM
software.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing (Preferred).
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Sales and Marketing (Required).
• Five or more years of sales experience (Preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or NetSuite/Oracle programs (Preferred).
