The Opportunity

This position will sit out of our Lake County, IL office. Are you ready to join an exceptionally talented and dynamic team, be inspired daily, and have a blast while doing it?

This Architect will focus on Business Intelligence (BI), designing and implementing BI solutions using SAP technologies, primarily SAP ECC and SAP B/4 HANA (BW/4HANA). Must-have skills include:

  • Business requirement gathering
  • Defining data models
  • Designing data warehouses or data lakes
  • Selecting appropriate SAP BI tools, such as SAP BusinessObjects or SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Creating dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions to enable data-driven decision-making.

The BI Architect will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, functional leads, and other IT professionals in Abbott, to ensure that the BI solution(s) align with business objectives, while meeting technical and SLC (Software Lifecycle) standards.

The architect will also help frame the models for data governance, security, and deployment methodologies.

The BI architect role will guide enterprise solutions in the areas of Supply Chain (Manufacturing, Quality, MRP, Logistics), OTC / Commercial (sales & distribution, AR, contracts & pricing), Finance (FICO, Tax, Treasury), and Procurement (indirect and direct, AP).

The BI Architect will frame best practices regarding connectivity with other BI systems like COGNOS and MS PBI.

What You Will Work On

  • Leverage IT and business process knowledge and leadership to work with corporate and divisional business/IT leaders to ensure excellent project delivery.
  • Influence process/IT alignment and all levels including senior leadership.
  • Influence Abbott's BI solutions in terms of the performance, scalability, sustainability, governance, security, and adoption, leveraging industry & technology best practices in SAP ECC, SAP BW, and SAP BW/4HANA.
  • Collaborate with divisional business/IT leaders with a goal to frame BI solutions that have long-term benefit to Abbott as a company.

Experience and Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or relevant experience; MBA is a plus.
  • 10yrs of Overall IT experience
  • 7+ years collaborating with a global customer base.
  • Expertise in stakeholder management.
  • Lead architect experience in SAP BW and SAP B4/HANA environments.
  • Strong SAP functional knowledge in Supply Chain, Commercial, Procurement, and Finance.
  • 2+ years' experience in Cloud integration with platforms like Azure

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and electronic communication skills using MS Suite applications.
  • Collaborative and inclusive mindset.
  • Focus on self-driven learning to accelerate self as well as the organization.
  • SAP BW, SAP B/4 HANA, SAP ECC, and S/4 HANA
  • IT and business process experience in Supply Chain (Manufacturing, Quality, MRP, Logistics), OTC / Commercial (sales & distribution, AR, contracts & pricing), Finance (FICO, Tax, Treasury), and Procurement (indirect and direct, AP).

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
