Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Operations Manager to oversee our business processes and operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring on-time product deliveries to customers, efficient job control, proper staffing of work centers, effective scheduling, process improvement initiatives, and the successful implementation of new customers/products. This role demands a proactive, strategic thinker with a strong background in data analytics, process improvement, and operational management.

This role will be a member of and report to the Leadership Team, consisting of the President, Controller, Manufacturing Operations Manager, and Plant Manager(s). This role will have direct reports within scheduling, shipping, receiving departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Delivery Management:

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers through cooperation with customer requirements, account managers, production supervisors, and manufacturing leadership.
  • Manage production scheduling and operator performance in agreement with schedule.
  • Coordinate build schedule and shipping to optimize delivery schedules and routes.
  • Oversee the sale-to-floor process to ensure efficient and timly part engineering, material procurement, and programming in agreement with schedule.
  • Be in regular contact with Account Managers for program requirements.
  • Manage job loading in ERP system, balancing schedule work load to achieve utilization targets, efficiency goals, and on time delivery.

Efficiency Optimization:

  • Oversee the shop floor operations to ensure efficient job processing, material queuing, and WIP management.
  • Perform job costing analysis - identifying poor performing jobs and helping determine strategies for cost reduction or efficiency improvements
  • Identify and optimize processes needing automation to reduce manual effort.
  • Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies across office and production floor.

Strategy and Implementation:

  • Determine strategic goals and metrics of success with leadership team to guide company growth.
  • Track and maintain dashboards with strategic goals and growth metrics.
  • Report on important production, shipping, and financial metrics to leadership team
  • Develop and implement tools for improved data insight across the organization

Process Improvement:

  • Develop, document, and implement businesses process across the organization.
  • Own business process training procedures and knowledge transfer from leadership to operator level.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing operations to ensure Quality Management System and Quality Operating Procedures are in compliance with ISO 9001:2015, updating operating proceeding as needed
  • Develop, document, implement, and train on process improvements across digital stack including Microsoft Suite, ERP, Shared Drives, etc.

Staffing and Training:

  • Review work center utilizations and manage staffing in accordance with need to ensure leveled labor utilizations
  • Coordinate with manufacturing operations and HR to ensure efficienct recruitment, training, and development processes.
  • Coordinate with production control to ensure efficient and cross trained floor staff.

Scheduling and Bottleneck Analysis:

  • Develop and manage effective scheduling systems to maximize productivity.
  • Conduct regular bottleneck analyses to identify and address workflow impediments.

Risk Reduction:

  • Implement risk management strategies to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

New Customer/Product Implementation:

  • Implement large scale projects with capacities, headcounts, and capabilities to meet customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth new product implementation.
  • Plan and build out additional work centers with new operators and machinery per customer need.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-7+ years of experience in an operations management role in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and production scheduling.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and train a diverse team.
  • Experience in implementing new systems and processes.

Salary Information: $81,862 - $99,828 - $117793; performance bonus
