Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to:

  • Increase employment services for the employer
  • Increase use of thePA CareerLink® by both the employer and the job seeker
  • Increase the use of subsidized and unsubsidized employment services by the employer
As thePA CareerLink® liaison to the business community, the Business Services Coordinator develops positive relationships with employers and industry through outreach, recruitment, and dissemination of information to ensure that employers and job seekers are matched; that employers are aware and can utilize thePA CareerLink® services. Qualifications: The position of Business Services Coordinator requires a person capable of conforming to the high standards of behavior expected of all staff.Excellent work habits, including attendance and punctuality, are required.The person must follow company policies and safety procedures, as well as ensure that other employees under his/her supervision follow these. Education:Bachelor's in marketing, business, human resources, communication, or related field is required. Experience: Four years of experience in job development, sales, and/or working with employers and businesses. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking skills and the ability to develop written business correspondence. Computer proficiency: Basic computer literacy including Word, Access, Excel, Google, and Email Clearances: Must be able to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and Department of Human Services- FBI Fingerprints. Other: Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and dependable transportation, which can be used for work. Ability to relate effectively to others, including co-workers, agency clients, supervisors, and community contacts. Skills, Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities: Acceptance of Goodwill's Philosophy of the People We Serve and thorough knowledge and acceptance of principles of customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and effectively manage multiple and competing tasks and priorities.
  • Understanding of employer needs and labor market trends.
  • Ability to develop marketing strategies to businesses and employers.
  • Ability to develop and sustain workforce partnerships and opportunities with local businesses.
  • Ability to train, supervise, and develop the Employer and Career Services Professional.
  • Excellent coordination, organization, and administrative skills.
  • Expertise in computer technology, word processing, document preparation, and databases for tracking.
  • Ability to do prolonged standing and walking up to 8 hrs.
  • Ability to do frequent bending, stooping, stretching, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, (material handling equipment will be used to minimize effort expended when practical).
  • Vision and hearing corrected to within normal limits.
  • Plan and develop a strategy to provide employment opportunities for the participants we serve.
  • Participate in the Business Services Team.
  • Plan and develop a strategy/plan to further integrate services between the Career Center and WIOA Title I services.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to determine areas of employer demand.
  • Contact companies to identify and develop job and career opportunities for participants based on participants skills, background and levels of education and the needs of the employer.
  • Market the clients and services of the CareerLink and Goodwill's workforce programs to business and industry through regular meetings.
  • Attend networking events in the community.May be evenings and/or weekends.
  • Market On-the-Job training, subsidized employment, tax incentives and job coaching to employers.
  • Inform employers concerning Americans w/Disabilities Act (ADA) issues.
  • Monitor, track and compile statistical information.Maintain records and job placement statistics, provide monthly report of activities.Maintain database of employers.
  • Create partnerships with employers to allow for regular and ongoing placement for CareerLink's and/or Goodwill's participants.
  • Establish relationships with businesses interested in having Goodwill conduct workplace training.
  • Maintain Business Advisory Council.
  • Interact with various departments and services to coordinate job development efforts.
  • Monitor ongoing customer satisfaction with placements and services.
  • Plan and conduct classroom presentations and seminars on job search techniques for both staff and participants.
  • Perform related duties as required or assigned.
