R10055009 Business Support Manager (Open) Location: Moraine, OH - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Business Support Manager (BSM) is responsible for leading the retail channel and providing sales operational support in each Area. This person will help develop the merchandising strategy with the Area leadership team and oversee implementation of this strategy with each retail operation manager. In particular, you will:
- Responsible for working with Region, Area and District personnel to maintain a safe operating environment for all our employees and all our customers
- Responsible for day to day management of Sales Support Specialists in the Area
- Align price analytics and ongoing price management activities with Pricing Director and DMs
- Align sales support and marketing activities with AVP and DMs to enable their sales team to provide quicker customer response as well as new prospect growth
- Responsible for the management of all assigned Retail only facilities
- Hire, coach and direct the managers of each assigned facility
- Develop the merchandising strategy for all retail facilities in the Area to increase walk in traffic and profitable sales growth of this channel
- Work closely with region inventory managers to stock the correct gas and HGs products
- Utilize OEM partners to create store promotions and better align spend with core partners
- Ensure the inside sales team is adequately trained and able to handle all customer requirements
- Responsible for the growth and penetration of eBus with Y0 accounts
- Execute on area efficiency and cost saving opex initiatives
- Executes on plans to realize the strategic pricing targets.
- Ensures effective collaboration, teamwork, and communication throughout the Area.
- Other projects/initiatives as assigned
Are you a MATCH?
- Four-year college degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales Management, Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted.
- Minimum of three (3) years of increasing responsibility in a business to business sales-related or sales operations position to include prior experience managing a team and a P&L or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving gases and welding supplies or similar industrial products.
- A track record of achieving profitable sales growth is required.
- A reputation for strong leadership skills and the capability of developing and managing a team with a strong emphasis on customer excellence and customer-focused results is required.
- Versatility to function effectively in a fast paced and changing business environment.
- Excellent motivational skills.
- Ability to analyze a business opportunity, and develop a successful sales strategy to acquire new business.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business and accounting concepts including but not limited to Return on Investment (ROI), Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, and margin responsibilities.
- Change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and to create cross-functional alignment.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, especially in the development of actions plans and to ensure accountability and follow through.
- Ability to make highly effective oral and written presentations and proposals to all levels of management.
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
- Employee may occasionally be required to transverse through office and/or manufacturing locations.
- Employee will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information.
- Employee will be required to observe and assess information received via computer.
- Requires use of computer, telephone and operation of a motor vehicle.
- Daily travel within the District is required (75% of the time).
- Minimal overnight travel.
- Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
- Job requires visitation to various Airgas and customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
