Business Systems Analyst - NEPC, LLC : Job Details

Job Summary:

We're transforming how NEPC delivers investment consulting services through better data integration and analytics. Be a part of the team that's building new systems and implementing new processes to accomplish this transformation using relational databases, data virtualization, analytics, and other technologies.

As a Business Systems Analyst, you'll join our 4-person Back End Solutions team in building and optimizing the data systems that power our client services. Your work will directly impact how 300+ investment professionals analyze and deliver insights to our institutional and private wealth clients.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data pipelines that connect our core investment and enterprise systems (Factset, Backstop, eVestment, and internal databases) using SQL Server Integration Services.
• Implement, manage, and support the data virtualization and integration technologies underpinning the enterprise's applications and analytics.
• Design and maintain databases supporting critical business applications and business processes.
• Optimize our existing SQL Server databases and SSRS reporting infrastructure that handles 5TB+ of financial and enterprise data.
• Collaborate with investment teams to automate manual data processes, typically reducing processing time by 50-80%.
• Build and maintain documentation for our data architecture and system dependencies.
• Lead 1-3 major data architecture projects annually, from requirements gathering through implementation.
• Fill skills gaps by working with mentors and attending online and in-person training sessions.
• Maintain a fresh professional skillset by attending educational workshops and conferences and reviewing the latest technical publications.

Formal Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, finance, or related field.

Knowledge & Experience:

• 4+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
• Experience designing data models and ETL processes for financial data.
• Experience authoring requirements documentation, system analysis, and solution design documentation related to application, data flow, or system integration efforts.
• Project management experience for small/medium business application efforts.
• Experience using various data interchange technologies (SFTP, API, and various data formats, including JSON, HTML, XML, and TXT).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R, or similar) for data processing.
• Understanding of investment services and experience with financial data typically used in the industry.
