Position Summary:
Server Assistants play a crucial role in providing an exceptional dining experience through friendly and orderly guest service at Seven Beach Lane. Server Assistants work closely with all front- and back-of-house team members to create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure the highest possible level of efficiency and sanitation during service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports front-of-house team in fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests, facilitating guest requests when service team is occupied, and maintaining host and service stations.
Supports service team by clearing trash containers and bus stations as needed.
Works with service team to prepare dining areas in accordance with service manual by cleaning and clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, plates, and utensils.
Delivers food to guests and monitors table maintenance.
Informs guests of the food items being delivered to their table.
Verifies that food delivered is prepared as ordered and attends to any immediate guest needs.
Communicates with the kitchen to manage timing of courses, guest feedback, etc.
Maintains tables by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and anticipating guest needs.
Appropriately escalates guest complaints to service team or manager on duty.
Updates knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities.
Collaborates with the management team to develop strategies for driving business growth and improving overall service quality.
Maintains sanitation to Department of Health standards, keeping service and dining areas clean and organized.
Communicates all necessary guest information to the team to set everyone up for success (allergy alerts, VIPs, special requests, celebrations, etc.).
Attends mandatory meetings.
Adheres to posted schedules.
Completes daily opening and closing side work and other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
1 year minimum of restaurant service experience in a similar caliber concept
Fluency in written and spoken English
High school diploma or GED
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business
Adaptable in a fast-paced and challenging work environment
Polished personal presentation that meets Company standards
Passion for exceptional hospitality, food, and beverages
Physical Demands
Seeing, hearing, and speaking
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, reach, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
Ability to safely navigate hazardous situations and conditions that produce cuts or minor burns
