Be part of a company where your skills and contributions are recognized and rewarded.Job Summary: As a Buyer I, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies essential for our manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to grow and contribute in a fast-paced environment. You will work in collaboration with other departments including Supply Chain, Assembly, and Sales. Essential Functions
  • Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Work with external suppliers to obtain the best price and delivery for all required commodities including raw materials, MRO, and facilities maintenance supplies.
  • Execute and maintain purchase orders according to the demand driven by ERP system.
  • Issue inner-company purchase orders to various SFE facilities as required.
  • Work alongside Planner / Analyst to schedule and route inbound containers from international sources.
  • Monitor open purchase orders with external suppliers to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain supplier proficiency rating by evaluating supplier OTD, DOA and quality defects, and prices.
  • Review daily reports and confirm all required parts have been purchased according to target stock and production requirements.
  • Work with the warehouse team to ensure all inbound shipments are routed optimally to reduce cost and transit times.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to identify purchasing needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Stay updated on market trends and potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Maintain item master with min/max point, primary vendor information, and standard cost.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet organizational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field preferred; and 1-2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the manufacturing sector; or 3-5 years of applicable and verifiable experience.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems.
  • Ability to work within shared documents (i.e., network-shared spreadsheets and Microsoft Teams groups) to provide accurate and accessible interdepartmental information.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Office and travel have moderate noise levels. Machine/Product demonstrations and customer visits can have loud noise levels.To meet customer requirements, the employee may be asked to travel in an airplane and/or vehicle to get to customer work sites. At times, this position walks on or through high elevations, underground and/or confined spaces, around high voltage and in heavy industrial and/or construction work environments such as bridges, dams, mines, power plants, shipyards, etc. The employee must be able to work in hazardous working environments with possible extreme working conditions to complete customer training and/or applications support.Noise levels may be extreme and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided. Usage may be driven by customer requirements. Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, steel toe boots, hardhat and safety glasses, hearing protection.
