Functions and Responsibilities:• Entering and maintaining supplier database information in the business management system• Request quotes to multiple suppliers and partnership to get win/win solution on pricing/delivery • Strategical build and maintain a supplier base - selecting appropriate suppliers based on price, lead time, and quantity• Be able to accurately create, follow-up and expedited a supplier purchase orders or purchase requisitions.• Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customer, including current, new and potential suppliers• Record, maintain assigned supplier scorecards. Investigate supplier responses and develop strategic improvements as directed by department manager• Document, measure, and work with supplier to improve supplier performance (product quality/on time delivery)• Audit supplier procedures and documentation with quality management using ISO requirements as a baseline.• Addressing minor and major product/service issues with solutions with supplier• Major knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP for daily assigned tasks• Research potential new supplier's abilities and products while maintaining good relationships with existing suppliers• Cost analysis of current and future products/suppliers associated with scope of work• Ensure continuous supply of required good and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations• Negotiate pricing and terms of service while finding ways to reduce costs while maintaining/improving the quality of purchased goods or services.• Major supporter in driving FVMT continuous improvement initiatives• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market changes• Develop and innovative procurement strategies based on company goals• Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance review to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities• Investigate vendor responses and make needed improvements as directed by leaderEducation:• A Supply Chain Management Degree (or equivalent experience) is requiredExperience:• 7+ years buying/purchasing experience is required• 3-5 years metal manufacturing/fabrication business experience is preferred• 1-3 years applied coatings and chemical treatments is preferredSpecialized Experience:• 6+ years Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is preferred• Manufacturing blue print reading experience is preferred• Knowledge of defense related requirements such as ITAR, Flow Down Requirements, and Certificates of Conformance is preferredPhysical Demands: The physical demands described below are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
