Overview:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for procuring goods and services, including warehouse inventory items, direct receiving items and special project purchases; exercises buying responsibilities and judgment on the basis of the best value, considering quantity, quality and service.

Responsibilities:

1. Review requisitions, contact vendors, and purchase goods based upon agreed?upon price, quantity and quality, ensuring timely procurement of goods at price/value to meet the needs of client departments.

2. Communicate and coordinate with user departments in order to understand needs, and anticipate and resolve issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and that purchasing services meet the needs of the organization.

3. Review bid for all major purchases to ensure securing the most advantageous deal in relation to price, quantity, quality, service level, and delivery schedule.

4. Research and communicate with existing and potential vendors in order to cultivate working relationships and develop most advantageous price and service agreements.

5. Review inventory (such as office supplies and certain food items) and places orders in order to maintain par levels of inventory which best meet users requirements.

6. Work with vendors to resolve discrepancies, return items, and coordinate delivery schedules in order to ensure timely deliver of quality product that meets the user department needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must have ability to:

  • Review and comprehend requisitions, purchase orders, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors as well as all levels of employees.
  • Consistently negotiate cost-effective deals.
Qualifications:

Effective communication skills. These skills are typically acquired through a high school education or the equivalent, in addition to a minimum of two years purchasing experience; or through completion of a college degree in business administration or closely related field in addition to one year of related experience.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employees department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.

Posted Salary Range:USD $50,000.00 - USD $52,000.00 /Yr.
