Buyer - 603 Manufacturing, A Trexon Company : Job Details

Basic Function:

Responsible for submitting requests for quotes, procuring raw materials, components, tooling, equipment and purchased services at the appropriate quality, lowest price and within acceptable time frames.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate purchasing activities and process purchase requisitions in a timely manner. Using MRP and/or manual requisitions, analyze demand to determine need. Purchase raw material, tooling and components for custom and standard inventory as well as materials, supplies, equipment and repair/calibration services needed for day-to-day operations. Initiate and distribute change orders for purchased items such as changes in specifications, part numbers and sources.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with the manufacturers and suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
• May research alternative suppliers for obsolete or long lead-time parts
• Responsible for resolving AP issues through analysis and investigation
• Process RMA's for material that is not acceptable or does not meet required specifications.
• Proactively report material availability issues to the appropriate Strategic Account Manager, Production Control and Supervisors.
• Negotiate price/volume/delivery dates without jeopardizing best-in-class products and raw materials
• Complete special projects and assignments as requested
