Job Description :

Adecco has partnered with a Multinational Electronics Manufacture to hire a Full Time/ Direct Hire Buyer in San Jose, CA.

I. JOB SUMMARY

Performs service and support to internal customers to improve material readiness for new product introduction (NPI) builds and/or mass production. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for sourcing material from the States based on the review of weekly supply status from The Company supply chain management (SCM). Look for materials from suppliers (manufacturers, distributors, retail, channels, samples, etc). Invite quote from supplier.

2. Provide SCM and/or US PO representative with sourcing information (source, contact window, cost, lead time, delivery terms, MOQ, etc) and work with the team at factories in China and/or States to resolve issues.

3. Help in requesting all necessary documents from new suppliers for China team to set up supplier codes.

4. Maintain close contact with product engineers / design engineers for sample POs, spec clarification, and second source approval for various programs.

5. Synch up with SCM and business program manager (BPM) in case of cost discrepancy.

5. Work with Strategic Procurement and/or Supplier Management for materials sourced from strategic suppliers.

* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education, Experience, and Training

1. Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or equivalent. Major course work in Business Administration, Supply or a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required two years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.

2. Two years full-time, wage-earning experience as a supply chain buyer in technology or manufacturing.

B. Knowledge and Skills

1. Knowledge of forecasting, material requirements planning (MRP), water-fall table, red-yellow-green (RYG) report in an electronic manufacturing service (EMS) environment.

2. Strong skills in organization, analysis, judgment and negotiation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

3. Knowledge in products and electronic components. Knowledge and skills in looking for suppliers across the whole manufacturing/distribution value chain in electronic component industry.

4. Skills in conducting independent research and work around obstacles with minimal guidance.

5. Skills with initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks.

6. Skills in teamwork, managing suppliers and getting things done in a non-confrontation way.
