Job Description :

Proteus specializes in the design and manufacture of a wide range of network capable, extreme temperature, rugged, precision liquid flow sensing and control instruments for the semiconductor equipment, automotive, medical and industrial markets.

We are looking to for an experienced Buyer to join our team!

In this role you will contribute to our bottom line: providing innovative systems, products, and solutions. Be a part of a team that not only fosters open communication of ideas but encourages innovation at every level.

This is an on-site position, located in Mountain View, CA.

The Buyer responsibilities will include:

  • Review purchase requisitions, drawings and specifications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Manage performance of purchase orders and suppliers, ensures compliance with all ISO requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Specifying solicitations and bid packages
  • Identifying strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
  • Evaluating proposals and negotiating prices/terms
  • Understanding the buyer and seller's roles to establish mutually successful business arrangements
  • Prepare metric reports related to procurement to be presented to management
  • Leveraging your skill and talents throughout this role

In this role you will make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A stable work history

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of professional experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or related fields, to include logistics, manufacturing/ project management, business management, or information systems
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
  • Proficiency in MRP systems such as SAP or Expandable
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
