Job Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aerospace Buyer to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and equipment required for the production and maintenance of aerospace systems. As an integral part of our supply chain team, you will ensure that our procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet the high standards required in the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for aerospace components, materials, and services. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to support production and operational needs.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery delays, or non-compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory control and production teams to manage stock levels, ensuring timely availability of materials while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Contract Management: Review and manage purchase orders, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and aerospace standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Continuously analyze and identify cost-saving opportunities within the procurement process while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials and components meet required specifications, certifications, and quality standards as mandated by regulatory bodies (FAA, EASA, etc.).
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, new suppliers, and emerging technologies that could impact procurement strategies. Advise management on potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate procurement of materials required for production schedules and product development.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance. Prepare regular reports on procurement metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory status.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Standards: Familiarity with aerospace regulations, certifications, and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, EASA).
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in procurement software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage contracts effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier performance, costs, and procurement data to make informed decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory records.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) are a plus.
  • Experience with Aerospace Suppliers: Experience working with tier 1 and tier 2 aerospace suppliers is highly desirable.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
