A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)Siemens Energy seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team! This role is essential to ensuring efficient management of procurement activities while supporting the company's operational and business targets. The Buyer will work closely with internal customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive cost-effective sourcing, maintain high procurement quality, and implement global standards and processes!How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
  • Oversee day-to-day procurement activities to ensure efficient management of procurement operations and alignment with business targets.
  • Manage a work queue to ensure timely issuance of purchase orders (POs) while coordinating effectively with internal customers, including MRPCs and requisitioners.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability, while managing a portfolio of suppliers for medium purchasing volumes, including negotiating price increases and running RFQs and bidding processes.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements and support Supplier Management processes such as qualification, evaluation, development, and classification to maintain high procurement quality.
  • Contribute to implementing globally defined procurement methods, processes, and systems, ensuring compliance with Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes, guidelines, and IT systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to online purchasing and contract management systems while supporting or leading Procurement Business Plan activities.
What You Bring (requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with strong SAP expertise.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with an analytical approach and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment.
