Position Overview
This full-time position is based in Everett, WA and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. The Buyer is primarily responsible for procurement, for creating, maintaining, and tracking purchase orders in support of Production, Engineering, and Product Development. Other primary responsibilities include maintaining mutually beneficial and positive relationships with vendors and reacting quickly and with creativity to ensure timely delivery of materials despite inevitable supply chain disruptions. In the first 3 months you will:
· Manage all aspects of procurement through close, daily coordination with manufacturing and suppliers in support of production goals and timelines
· Utilize and maintain kanban and reorder point replenishment systems for procurement
· Anticipate shifting priorities as plans and schedules evolve and collaborate with suppliers as required to prevent disruptions to factory throughput
· Immediately articulate supply issues and potential alternate solutions to the Operations team
· Establish, maintain, and grow positive working relationships with suppliers and colleagues
· Monitor purchase orders to ensure supplier performance and on-time delivery
· Obtain quotes from suppliers for production materials, service items, and shop supplies
· Partner with AP to resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
· Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management
After 3 months you will be able to do everything you have learned so far and also:
· Participate in cost reduction activities in alignment with corporate goals and priorities
· Assume ownership of kanban replenishment system for both inventory and non-inventory items
· Report on Supply Chain and Procurement KPIs
· Work with suppliers to improve fill rates, quality, and lead times whenever possible
After 12 Months You'll Be Able To:
· Share best practices across teams and be a driver of continuous process improvement
· Own and drive an inventory action plan to maintain proper inventory levels and maximize inventory turns goals of key production components
· Collaborate with suppliers to ensure best practices are followed, procurement leverage is maximized, lowest total cost sourcing options and supply chain risks are identified

Qualifications
· Experience: 2+ years procurement in a repetitive manufacturing environment, experience in a Lean environment using kanban replenishment methods and strategies is valuable to this role
· Knowledge: basic knowledge of purchasing and procurement procedures; basic working knowledge of replenishment systems and processes that support production, e.g., inventory control, purchasing, production scheduling, accounting
· Skills/Abilities: Well-developed communication skills are critical to this role; Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams to resolve urgent issues and constraints, to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information; Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams
Must have requirements for this role:
· Be able to read and write in English
· Well-developed logical deductive reasoning skills
· Well-developed communication skills are critical
· Working proficiency in ERP systems such as Netsuite
· Be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug test and be willing to submit to regular randomized drug tests.
· Willingness to submit personal information for WSP background check.
Physical Requirements:
· Potentially sitting for long periods of time
· Occasional lifting of materials or cases of parts
Physical Work Conditions:
· Safety eyewear and footwear are required in some areas of the factory
· Bullpen style office with varying levels of activity and noise throughout the day

PAY RANGE
Our target HIRING range for this role is $27.97 - $34.97 per hour. The entire pay range for this position is $27.97 - $41.96 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location.
