What you'll be doing:

The local buyer is responsible for the execution of Procurement activities related to day-to-day supplier management relative to quality and service to Primient manufacturing facilities.

  • Procurement Process Management:
    • Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders promptly and accurately, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with company policies.
    • Verify and validate requisition details (quantities, specifications, and delivery requirements) to ensure clarity and completeness before creating purchase orders.
    • Resolve local buying issues, this may require a collaborative approach with appropriate parties (e.g., category manager, maintenance manager, stores coordinator and supplier)
  • Vendor Management:
    • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
    • Adherence to contracts ensuring that all terms, conditions, and obligations outlined in agreements are fully met, maintaining legal compliance, fostering trust with stakeholders, and mitigating risks
  • Grant of Authority Compliance:
    • Ensure that all purchase orders are in line with the organization's approved grant of authority limits.
    • Collaborate with department heads and management to resolve discrepancies or concerns related to approval levels and procurement needs.
    • Follow RCM initiatives and documentation procedure to support compliance with the purchasing policy
  • Expediting & Delivery Monitoring:
    • Track the status of orders, coordinate with suppliers, and expedite delivery when necessary to meet project timelines or avoid delays.
    • Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding any issues or delays in the delivery of goods and services.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, requisitions, supplier correspondence, and related documentation.
    • Ensure that all purchase transactions comply with internal audit requirements and procurement policies.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Assist in generating reports on procurement activities, including supplier performance and order status.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency gains in the procurement workflow.
    • Identify opportunities/efficiencies and assist with implementation for transaction processes, ensure one way of working

What you'll need to have:

  • The person is a self-starter with a proven track record. With experience in building mutual relationships with key suppliers, this person will effectively establish business needs, matching innovative solutions to meet those needs. Their experience will have been gained ideally in a fast paced, dynamic industry where the emphasis is on relationships, solution benefit, meeting challenging targets and delivering business needs.
  • Proven expertise in sourcing as a buyer in an MRP driven environment is essential to this role.
  • Understanding and ability to successfully develop and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Follow-up with change orders as needed to ensure accuracy.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional procurement qualification through a recognized professional body preferred.
  • A degree in a Business or Technical discipline.
  • Systems experience within an SAP environment would be advantageous.
  • PC literate including MS office suite of standard programs.
  • Supplier management

Total RewardsThe annual pay range estimated for this position is $59,688.00 - $74,610.00 and is bonus eligible.

Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. During the interview process there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.​
