What you should know: Mulberry has partnered with our dental services client to hire a Buyer to support their Merchandise Purchasing team! Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will be responsible for providing comprehensive, professional level support to the procurement function, allowing dental clinics and departments to focus on delivering exceptional care.

A day in the life:

  • Work with managers and leads in dental practices in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho in developing a strong understanding of their operations and associated needs.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to negotiate volume discounts, reduce costs, maintain accurate lead times and assure quality for existing materials.
  • Manage and maintains the entire Purchase-to-Pay process for assigned vendors, covering Purchase Orders creation, submission to the vendor, vendor order confirmation, and accurate expected delivery date updates.
  • Manage logistics to minimize freight expenses.
  • Work with external and internal stakeholders to manage out-of-stock and over-stock risks. Collaborate with Accounts Payable as needed to confirm PO payments, reconcile invoice discrepancies and recoverable billing interfacing with accounts payable and supplier's accounting department.
  • Process shipping irregularities such as: shortages, overages, delinquent orders, damaged goods and goods to be returned to vendor.
  • Communicate the demand/ volume/delivery time changes to Inventory Planning staff, expediting as necessary to ensure adherence to inventory guidelines
  • Following internal procedures, communicate any material problems and research solutions to prevent supply issues
  • Participate in managing and maintenance of the Requisition and Purchasing system
  • Run reports and export to excel from Requisition and Purchasing systems. Review and analyze data and respond accordingly
  • Participate in managing the Procurement and Orders inbox messages.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the departmental reference materials, job aides, and intranet site, etc.
  • Collaborate with Materials Committee in creating formulary and preferred listing of vendors.
  • Work in a team environment requiring regular interaction with leadership, manager, inventory planners, IT, and Accounting to complete assigned procurement tasks and to identify and implement efficiencies.
  • Leverage technology solutions, such as procurement software and analytics, to enhance procurement processes, monitoring, and reporting.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, accounting, or related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing and procurement
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in an ERP, requisition, or procurement system
  • Team player, interpersonal skills, high touch communication, and supportive

Compensation and Benefits: $28-32/HR with access to benefits via Mulberry's employer of record partner.
