The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our Customer Success Team as a Buyer. This key role involves working closely with both internal stakeholders and sister companies to ensure efficient management of supply chain operations. You will be a crucial point of contact for internal partners, facilitating clear communication and ensuring alignment within supply chain expectations and deliverables. We place a high value on self-motivation and meeting our customers' needs.How I will Contribute: • Act as the main liaison between internal teams and sister companies, including international partners, to streamline communication and coordinate supply chain activities.• Ownership of a high level of spend on COTS parts and complex assemblies for various programs, products, and customers.• Send Requests for Quote (RFQ's), analyze quotes & place Purchase Orders (PO's).• Negotiate with suppliers (cost, terms, quality & delivery).• Ensure supplier accountability to meet On Time Delivery (OTD) through regular confirmations of open Purchase Orders and managing the data effected by shifting dates and shortages.• Monitor and influence continuity of supply and drive effective critical shortage management. • Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of small-scale projects aimed at improving business systems and driving operational efficiencies. • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Product Line Management, Quality and Engineering.• Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams.• Supplier Relationship Management.• Guide suppliers to ensure conformance to set Terms & Conditions and Trade Compliance standards.• Support month-end finance activities.What You Bring to Safran Federal Systems:• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent military/industry experience is required.• 3+ years of professional purchasing experience managing suppliers is required.• Ability to read and communicate technical specifications to both technical and non-technical individuals. preferred.• Prior experience working with Aerospace, Defense, and Government customers, preferred.• Self-starter, confident, committed, and enthusiastic.• Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and prioritize.• Ability to proficiently use MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).• Strong systems and continuous improvement mindset.• Recognize the needs and concerns of others, foster trust and effectively manage interpersonal dynamics • Active security clearance is strongly preferred, ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance upon hire is required.• US citizenship is required for this role. • Travel up to 10% • Ability to be agile and have fun!• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions.• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate across various levels within the organization.• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.About Safran Federal Systems:Safran Federal Systems has been awarded as aWinner of the Rochester Metro Area Top Workplaces 2024 Award.
