Location: Franklin Park, IL (Hybrid 2 days a week after 90 days)

This is a newly created position that is moving fast. The company is known for its custom-engineered products, serving a wide range of markets from food processing to petrochemical applications. Job Description: Reporting to the soon-to-be-appointed Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will play a critical role in researching and purchasing products and supplies for custom-engineered product fabrication and production. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain inventory
• Research, analyze, and forecast current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products with attention to specific business needs
• Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers and suppliers
• Assess the financial risks of purchases
• Attend trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to stay updated on new products and trends

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or a related field
• 1 to 3+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing
• Experience working for a custom made-to-order manufacturer is ideal
• Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers
• Strong ability to oversee and maintain inventory
• Skilled in researching, analyzing, and forecasting buying trends and market needs
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers and suppliers
• Competence in assessing financial risks of purchases
