Job Title: Buyer Planner
Job Description
Manage the stock levels of identified critical components and oversee the process flow of inventory to purchasing by establishing baselines developed by engineering. Adjust based on burn rates and the number of systems installed. Generate vendor leads for competitive pricing, handle emergency part requests, and propose solutions. Provide budget updates on spare parts spending and shipping expenses. Oversee FG Inventory and monitor the flow from both LTD and 3rd Party Manufacturing. Monitor the flow of goods from HT through warehouses to the final customer. Collaborate cross-functionally within the organization, such as with R&D, NPI, and Engineering, while ensuring best procurement practices.
Responsibilities
Manage the stock levels of identified critical components
Establish baselines for inventory to purchasing based on engineering input and adjust according to burn rates and systems installed
Generate vendor leads for competitive pricing
Handle emergency part requests and propose solutions
Provide budget updates on spare parts spending and shipping expenses
Oversee FG Inventory and monitor the flow from LTD and 3rd Party Manufacturing
Monitor flow of goods from HT through warehouses to the final customer
Collaborate with R&D, NPI, and Engineering to ensure best procurement practices
Source worldwide suppliers for alternate and substitute components, especially from the far east
Manage Contract Manufacturers to ensure product availability and support scale-up and product changes
Review and analyze customer demands and requirements to support needs using professional procurement methodologies
Implement processes, policies, and tools to assist procurement activities and projects in the SC group
Be responsible for operational KPIs in terms of OTD, cost-saving, and supplier performance
Approach problem-solving proactively, tenaciously, and solution-oriented
Essential Skills
5+ years' experience in strategic and tactical procurement activities
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, or Logistics
Ability to read and understand complex assembly drawings
Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers to improve costs, reduce lead times, and ensure quality
Understanding of different manufacturing processes and technologies
ERP experience (Priority experience is an advantage)
Highly motivated and organized with a positive attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to take initiative, own tasks, and be flexible with changing priorities
Knowledge of budgeting processes
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems
Knowledge of procurement methodologies and processes
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage supplier relationships
Work Environment
This role is onsite at our facility in Norcross, GA. The work environment includes collaboration with various departments such as R&D, NPI, and Engineering, and managing relationships with worldwide suppliers.
